Birmingham, Ala. (January 17, 2018) – High Cotton, a leading provider of outsourced customer communications solutions for the financial services and healthcare industries, has hired its fourth round of college interns, beginning Winter of 2018.
This season’s new interns are Zeeshan Charania, originally of Pune, India and Brian Rogol of Birmingham, AL. Charania currently attends UAB, studying Business Administration and Finance. Upon graduation in May 2018, Charania hopes to pursue a career in software development. Rogul currently attends UAB majoring in Information Systems Management and serves in the Army National Guard. He plans to use his experience LAN manager, information management officer, and computer technician to commission as a cyberspace operations officer in the Air Force upon graduation.
High Cotton’s mission is to hire current students wanting to expand their knowledge of IT infrastructures and software development. “Our program is not typical internship work, like getting making copies and getting sandwiches,” says High Cotton Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Griffin McGahey. “It’s a chance for students to take what they’ve learned in the classroom and apply to real-world projects. Since our program’s inception in the winter of 2016, we have hired two former interns to full-time roles and two others to longer term part-time roles as they continue their studies.”
Previous interns hired into full-time roles include Josh Cain, originally of Chicago, IL and Trenton Knight, of Birmingham, AL. Cain was hired as a System Administrator and maintains the software systems used by the Client Service department. Knight was hired as a Software Developer and is responsible for testing new software and backend development projects.
He works with the Symfony PHP framework, Amazon Web Services technology, and Virtual machines to develop his projects.
