This semester’s new interns are Asli Camlica, from Istanbul, Turkey, Rofael Aleezada from Vestavia, AL, and Justin Timberlake from Montgomery, AL. Camlica is a graduate student at UAB, pursing a Master of Science in Computer and Information Science. After graduation, Asli hopes to pursue a career in software development focusing on back-end development here in the United States. Aleezada is currently a junior at UAB, majoring in Computer Science. He plans to pursue a Masters in Computer Science after receiving his undergraduate degree. Timberlake is a junior at the University of Alabama and is majoring in Computer Science. Upon graduation, Justin will pursue a career in software development, focusing on databases and back-end development.
Previous intern, Jared Teer, was hired into a full-time position as Junior Software Developer. Teer is responsible for internal application development which includes involvement in all areas of development, from design to implementation to testing. He works with the Microsoft .NET and .NET Core development stack, Amazon Web Services technologies, and Virtual machines to develop his projects.
High Cotton’s mission is to hire current students wanting to expand their knowledge of IT infrastructures and software development. “Our internship program has been a great feeder system for all of our IT teams,” says High Cotton Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Griffin McGahey. “Since the program’s inception in 2016, we have hired four interns to full-time roles and two others to long term part-time roles as they continue their studies.”
